Ngarrngga 2026 Strategic Partnerships Program – School Trial

In partnership with the Victorian Department of Education through the Strategic Partnerships Program, Ngarrngga is inviting Victorian Government primary schools in regional, rural and outer-metro areas to participate in a 2026 program combining professional development and curriculum resource trials, focused on building teacher confidence in showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems, histories and cultures.

The Opportunity

Participating schools will work alongside the Ngarrngga team to:

  • build teacher confidence through targeted professional development

  • trial curriculum resources in real classroom contexts

  • contribute feedback to support ongoing development.

Each school may nominate up to 10 teachers to participate.

We are seeking a small number of schools (3–5) to participate in 2026.

What participation looks like

Across Terms 2 - 4 2026, participating teachers will:

  • attend three 90 minute professional development sessions

  • trial at least one Ngarrngga curriculum resource

  • complete short surveys and one interview

  • receive ongoing support from the Ngarrngga team.

A flexible approach to participation

We recognise that schools are working within complex and evolving contexts.

Ngarrngga is open to working with schools to shape an approach that supports meaningful participation. This may include:

  • combining or adjusting professional development sessions

  • working with a hub model across a group of schools

  • adapting timelines where needed

  • tailoring aspects of delivery to align with school priorities and structures.

Our focus is on working in partnership with schools to ensure the program is both feasible and impactful.

Benefits for schools

Participating schools will:

  • strengthen teacher confidence in culturally responsive teaching

  • access high-quality curriculum resources developed with Indigenous Knowledge Experts

  • build staff capability through supported classroom trials

  • contribute to a Department-supported initiative.

Who should express interest

This opportunity is suited to:

  • Victorian Government primary schools

  • schools in regional, rural or outer-metro contexts

  • schools able to support a small group of teachers (up to 10)

  • schools interested in building teacher capability in this area.

Expression of interest

Expressions of interest close: Thursday 28 May 2026.

If your school is interested in participating, please complete the expression of interest form.

You will be asked to provide:

  • School name

  • Key contact person

  • Number of teachers interested (up to 10).
