Ngarrngga Flexible Curriculum Trial: Terms 3 and 4 2026

Ngarrngga Flexible Curriculum Trial: Terms 3 and 4 2026

Ngarrngga is seeking educators across Australia to participate in our Flexible Curriculum Trial across Terms 3 and 4, 2026.

This trial is an opportunity for teachers to engage with Ngarrngga curriculum resources, use them in classroom contexts, and provide feedback that will support the ongoing development of high-quality resources for Australian educators.

Ngarrngga’s vision is for all Australian students to have the opportunity to connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems, histories and cultures. Our curriculum resources and professional development are made by educators for educators, in collaboration with highly respected Indigenous Knowledge Experts. The Flexible Participation pathway is designed as an online, self-paced option for individual teachers or small teams nationwide, with targeted professional development and responsive support from the Ngarrngga team.

The Opportunity

The Flexible Curriculum Trial is open to:

  • Foundation to Year 6 primary educators across Australia

  • Year 7 and 8 HASS educators across Australia

  • individual teachers or small teams interested in trialling Ngarrngga curriculum resources.

Participating educators will have the opportunity to:

  • engage in professional development

  • trial Ngarrngga curriculum resources in their classroom

  • participate in optional check-ins with the Ngarrngga team

  • contribute feedback to support ongoing resource development.

What participation involved

Across Terms 3 and 4, participating teachers will:

  • complete Ngarrngga’s self-paced online foundational professional development:

    Showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems, histories and cultures

  • attend an online webinar to support planning and implementation

  • trial at least one Ngarrngga curriculum module or resource

  • participate in optional check-ins with the Ngarrngga team

  • complete a short post-trial survey.

The trial is designed to be flexible and manageable for educators working in different school contexts. Teachers will be supported to select curriculum resources that align with their year level, subject area and classroom needs.

Why participate

By participating in the Flexible Curriculum Trial, educators will:

  • access high-quality curriculum resources developed in collaboration with Indigenous Knowledge Experts

  • strengthen confidence in respectfully showcasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems, histories and cultures

  • contribute feedback that helps shape future resource development

  • support Ngarrngga’s ongoing work to develop resources that are useful, respectful and responsive to classroom practice.
